The shawl is looking wonderful. Did you get it done in time? Are you knitting furiously on it right now?

For such a small project I am all about dpns. I think that it will block out, though. I use circulars for larger projects. Whatever you're comfortable knitting with I say!! :)

I think blocking does do wonders for these sorts of problems but I've decided that I like doing stranded knitting in Shetland type yarns where the bloom of the fibre fills in all the gaps and holes and produces a lovely integrated fabric.

Not sure if I was much help....

I also gave up with circulars when doing some mittens a while back as I had the same problem. Picked up Latvian Mittens, found my double pins and decided it was far easier (and no I still haven't finished them in fact they're not even mentioned on Ravelry!)
I used circulars on a pair of socks I made (O and X's) They look fine in photos but are a real bu**er to get on they're so tight.
Of course there is one way to catch up on this shawl knitting. Teach Dave!!!!!!! Takes cover under sock yarn and awaits fallout ;) (PS have fitted new engine...replaced gearbox and now have one v happy son with a mother who has seen her yarn money dwindle dramatically since paying for these pleasures hmphffff)

Hi Mandella,

I have the same trouble with cirs on smaller things. I'm a fan of doub point for small things like mittens and socks. I never leave it to blocking. I go back and fix. I'm happier in the end that way.

I do like both projects. Good going on the shawl. I love the pattern.
